Far Horizons Villa, St. John, US Virgin Islands

Welcome to Far Horizons, St. John, USVI
St. John is a precious, quiet Caribbean island of paradise. The island protects its serenity, with 2/3 of the land designated as National Parkland. Accessible only by boat, St. John is a perfect getaway in many ways. The blend of West Indian culture and neighboring island influences creates an eclectic energy within the community. Good manners are a necessity for getting around comfortably. Known for its upscale, multi-million dollar vacation villa rentals with spectacular, breath-taking views and eco campgrounds, St. John is a gem in the Caribbean. The island has only three main roads that connect to many smaller roads. However, the mountainous terrain requires low speeds and often 4-wheel drive in many places. Most of our beaches are easily reached by car or taxi, and then exploring far remote beaches can only enhance your island adventure.

Cruz Bay, St. John USVI
Cruz Bay contains colorful shops, lively bars and fantastic restaurants. Of the two main communities on St. John, Cruz Bay is the largest. When you arrive to St. John, you'll arrive to the docks located in the heart of the town. Though small, Cruz Bay offers a variety of entertainment, shopping and dining, from casual to fancy. The National Park Visitors Center is here, offering maps, information and suggestions for enjoying the park. There are several locations to rent diving and snorkeling equipment as well as reserve a trip. Wharfside Village and Mongoose Junction are the two main shopping and dining areas, on each end of town and within walking distance. Scattered between are little side shops, restaurants, fruit stands and bars making it a lovely stroll day or night.

Far Horizons on the island of St. John
Our villa is located just outside the heart of Cruz Bay, within walking distance around the corner towards Frank Bay. Frank Bay is a quiet, sandy beach with great for shell hunting and fantastic sunsets--also within walking distance of the villa. Staying at Far Horizons allows you accessibility to town but the solitude of still being near the shore.

Packing for St. John
When packing for St. John, most visitors find they bring too many clothes and unneeded personal items. Shoes (or just flip flops) and sun dresses for the girls and t-shirts and shorts for the guys are the standard dress here. If you dine at one of the finer restaurants, generally a fanicer sundress and shorts/shirt will do fine. Bathing suit coverups are required when you're not at the beach. Bring good walking shoes if you're interested in the many hiking trails St. John has to offer. Make sure you have your passport if you wish to visit the BVIs or take snorkel/dive trips during your stay.

Groceries, film, sun block and other items may be purchased in Cruz Bay or Coral Bay. Drinks, snacks, ice, and beverages are abundant in both villages. A fold up rain coat helps for the tropical showers that pop up out of nowhere. For dining, activities or shopping suggestions, please don't hesitate to ask us.
